Nepal, renowned for its awe-inspiring landscapes, features the Dudh Kunda Lake trek as a premier adventure. Situated at approximately 4,600 meters /15091 feet in the Solu-Khumbu region, this trek commences in Phaplu and traverses through verdant rhododendron and pine forests, leading trekkers through scenic Sherpa villages such as Ringmo and Junbesi. The route provides breathtaking vistas of Himalayan peaks, including Everest and Kanchenjunga, and transitions into alpine meadows adorned with yak herds as elevation increases.
Dudh Kunda Lake, a pristine glacial lake encircled by towering peaks, holds significant religious importance for both Hindus and Buddhists. The name “Dudh Kunda,” meaning “Milky Lake,” reflects its reputed purifying properties. Each August, during the full moon, pilgrims undertake a journey to the lake to conduct sacred rituals and bathe in its icy waters. This trek offers a unique blend of physical challenge, cultural immersion, and spiritual significance, promising an enriching and memorable experience of Nepal’s diverse natural beauty.

DAY 1: Arrival in Kathmandu.
Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, you will be greeted by a Manram Voyages representative who will assist with your transfer to your hotel. The bustling capital city of Nepal offers a mix of rich culture and modern amenities. Warm welcome and check-in at the hotel. Our representative will meet in the evening to discuss the trip in detail.

DAY 2: Sightseeing in Kathmandu visiting Pashupatinath, Swayambhunath, Kathmandu Durbar Square and – B
After breakfast, we will visit Pashupatinath Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most sacred Hindu pilgrimage sites. Located on the holy Bagmati River, the complex features numerous temples, shrines, and ashrams, offering a rich cultural and spiritual experience.
Later visit Swayambhunath Stupa, also known as the Monkey Temple, which is located on a hill west of Kathmandu. The stupa is surrounded by prayer flags and small shrines, and there are hundreds of monkeys living in the area. From the top of the hill, you can enjoy panoramic views of the city. Afterward, we will explore Kathmandu Durbar Square, another UNESCO World Heritage Site, filled with historic palaces, temples, and courtyards. Despite some earthquake damage, it remains a must-see for its rich cultural heritage. We will conclude the day with an exciting rickshaw ride through the vibrant spice and vegetable markets to Thamel, where we will have lunch and explore local shops.
In the evening attend the welcome dinner.

DAY 3: Drive from Kathmandu to Phaplu and Ringmo/Takshindu. – B.L.D
After breakfast in Kathmandu, we leave the city behind for a scenic drive through lush hills, terraced fields, and small villages, gradually ascending into the tranquil mountain landscape. Upon arriving in Phaplu, transfer to a jeep for a two-hour journey deeper into the Himalayas, passing remote villages and stunning vistas. By late afternoon, reach Ringmo or Takshindu, and spend the night in the peaceful embrace of the mountains, ready for the trek ahead.

DAY 4: Trek from Ringmo/Takshindu to Shaharsha Beni – B.L.D
After breakfast begin the trek from Ringmo or Takshindu, ascending through lush forests and meadows toward Shaharsha Beni. As the trail climbs, breathtaking views of snow-capped peaks and deep valleys unfold, with the landscape shifting from dense woods to rugged alpine terrain. Passing remote villages, experience the simplicity of mountain life and the warmth of local hospitality. By the time reach Shaharsha Beni, fully immersed in the stunning wilderness of the Himalayas, ready for the next stage of adventure.

DAY 5: Climb to Dudh Kunda and return to Shaharsha Beni – B.L.D
Today’s trek begins with an early morning ascent to Dudh Kunda after breakfast, a sacred alpine lake high in the mountains. The climb is challenging due to the high altitude, but the stunning views of snow-capped peaks and the lake’s pristine blue waters make the effort worthwhile. At the lake, enjoy the tranquil beauty and serene atmosphere, taking time for reflection. Afterward, trek back to Shaharsha Beni, retracing steps and experiencing the changing perspectives of the landscape. Despite the day’s challenges, the rewarding experience of the high-altitude environment and the breathtaking scenery make it a memorable adventure.

DAY 6: Trek from Shaharsha Beni to Junbesi – B.L.D
After breakfast, trek from Shaharsha Beni to Junbesi, descending through a variety of landscapes. The trail transitions from high-altitude alpine meadows to lush forests and terraced fields, showcasing the region’s diverse beauty. Reaching Junbesi, a charming Sherpa village, experience the warmth of local hospitality and traditional architecture. The village offers a glimpse into Sherpa culture and the opportunity to interact with villagers while enjoying the scenic beauty of the lower hills, providing a rich and rewarding end to the trek.

DAY 7: Trek from Junbesi to Phaplu – B.L.D
Today trek back from Junbesi to Phaplu, retrace steps through familiar terrain, gain a fresh perspective on the landscapes, and reflect on the highlights of the journey. The return offers a chance to appreciate the changing scenery, from lush forests to terraced fields, in a peaceful atmosphere. Upon reaching Phaplu, a picturesque town surrounded by traditional Sherpa, Tamang, and Magar villages, greeted by stunning mountain views and a serene ambiance. Known for its warm hospitality and cultural charm, Phaplu serves as a tranquil gateway to the Himalayas, making it an ideal place to unwind and prepare for future high-altitude adventures.

DAY 8: Drive from Phaplu to Kathmandu by Private Jeep – B.L.D
After breakfast, drive from Phaplu to Kathmandu in a private jeep. The scenic journey lets transition from the serene mountains to the bustling city, offering a final chance to reflect on the trek and enjoy the changing landscapes. As we approach Kathmandu, the city’s vibrant atmosphere signals the end of the mountain adventure.

DAY 9: Sightseeing in Kathmandu visiting Patan Durbar Square and Boudhanath. – B
After breakfast, transfer to Patan Durbar Square. A UNESCO World Heritage site, Patan Durbar Square is a marvel of Newari architecture and arts. The Patan Museum is also situated within one of the old residential courts of the Royal Family, the museum houses some of the most important religious, historical, and sacred arts of Nepal. Opportunity ancient marketplace, a center for traders between Tibet, Nepal, and India, visit traditional craftsmen, and their studios and do some souvenir shopping.
In the evening, visit Boudhanath Stupa, one of the most important pilgrimage sites for Buddhists. Tibetan Buddhists start and end their day with a circumambulation of the stupa, a sort of daily pilgrimage. The stupa comes alive in the evening with butter lamps lit all around.
Enjoy a farewell dinner at a rooftop restaurant overlooking Boudhanath Stupa.

DAY 10: Final Departure. – B
Today is the final day. After breakfast based on your flight time, the Manram representative will transfer you to the international airport for your onward flight.
