Phurlhamu Tamang, the dynamic Managing Director of Manram Himalayan Voyages, was born in the heart of the Everest region, Solukhumbu. Inspired by her late father’s deep passion for trekking and adventure, she carved her own path, earning a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) along with specialized training in leadership, communication, and first aid.
A true child of the Himalayas, her adventures span the Annapurna, Everest, Mustang, and Langtang regions. Equipped with valid trekking and tour guide licenses, she brings her vision to life by crafting exceptional and unique trekking and tour experiences.
Her mission is to honor her father’s legacy while captivating the world with the awe-inspiring beauty of the Himalayas.
Pierre Soete, MD, a Belgian orthopaedic surgeon, has been dedicated to Nepalese healthcare since 2000. After 25 years in Belgium, he co-founded the Nepal Orthopaedic Hospital (NOH) in Jorpati, a 120-bed facility serving all patients, including the underprivileged. He also advised on the construction of the Pasang Lhamu-Nicole Niquille Hospital in Lukla.
Since 2005, he has worked with his Nepali team from the Nepal Mountain Mobile Hospital, which he founded to provide free surgical care in remote areas. His team was instrumental in delivering aid after the 2015 earthquake and helped rebuild the Maternity Center in Phaplu.
Known as Dr. Pierre in Nepal, Soete has a lifelong passion for mountain climbing. He first came to Nepal in 1983 with a Belgian-Swiss team to climb Ama Dablam, later reached Kanchenjunga South in 1987 without oxygen, and attempted Everest’s Hornbein Couloir in 1991, among other treks with Manram Tamang father of Phurlhamu Tamang.

Marie Vanderveken, the partner of Dr. Pierre, holds a Master’s Degree in Biology and has devoted a significant part of her career to teaching science, accumulating 15 years of experience in Belgium.
Her commitment to environmental causes extended beyond the classroom, leading her to enroll in courses and internships to become a certified Nature Guide in Belgium. This qualification enables her to lead and educate groups about local flora, fauna, and ecological preservation.
Marie’s engagement with environmental issues is profound, and her journey of exploring Nepal’s landscapes, culture, and ecosystems began through her connection with her partner, fostering a deep and lasting bond with the country.

Marie Vanderveken
A professional tour guide and cultural enthusiast based in Kathmandu Valley. Originally from Pokhara, he loves helping travelers discover the true Nepal beyond its daily bustle. Despite living here for over thirty years, he continues to learn new aspects of his country every day.
Alongside his career in tourism, he studied Sanskrit literature to deepen his understanding of our ancient roots. In his culture, guests are revered as gods, and he sees his profession as a continuous practice of being an excellent host and guide.
He is passionate about sharing Nepal’s rich stories and seeing the country through his guests’ eyes.

Asmita Shrestha is an MBA graduate in Finance and Entrepreneurship with hands-on experience in financial management. Along with handling accounts, she also works as a part-time teaching assistant, where she applies her financial expertise to support educational activities.
She gained valuable experience during her internship in the Customer Service Department (CSD) at a bank. Her professional background includes managing financial operations at a company specializing in heavy equipment lending. In this role, she was responsible for a range of tasks including tracking income and expenses, distributing salaries, and coordinating payment communications with stakeholders. She continues to expand her skills through freelance projects, creating everything from business presentations to research papers.
Passionate about the intersection of finance and business growth, Asmita finds joy in translating financial data into actionable insights for organizations.
