Day 2: In Kathmandu
After breakfast at the hotel, we transferred to Swayambhunath Stupa, also known as the Monkey Temple, located on a hill west of Kathmandu. The stupa is surrounded by prayer flags and small shrines, with hundreds of monkeys living in the area. From the top of the hill, you can enjoy panoramic views of the city. After visiting Swayambhunath, head to Kathmandu Durbar Square, situated in the heart of the old city. The square is home to several temples and palaces, including the Hanuman Dhoka Palace and the Kumari Ghar (the home of the Living Goddess). If lucky, you might catch a glimpse of the goddess from her window.
Next, take an easy walk or rickshaw ride through the narrow alleyways of the old spice and vegetable markets of Ason. The small alleys are filled with shops selling clothes, jewelry, spices, copper utensils, and more, allowing you to witness the bustling bazaar. We then reach Thamel, a popular tourist hub with plenty of restaurants, book and souvenir stores. Have lunch in Thamel.
The afternoon is free for shopping and exploring Thamel. Later, you will be transferred to Patan, a city renowned for its artisans and celebrated for its fine arts. Patan is home to some of the valley’s most skilled craftsmen, who have maintained the ancient technique of repoussé—a process of turning, chiseling, and hammering metal sheets using the lost wax method to create intricate sculptures. The city retains much of its historic charm with its narrow streets, brick houses, numerous courtyards (known as bahals), Hindu temples, and Buddhist monasteries.
These narrow streets lead you to the heart of the city: Patan Durbar Square, a magnificent architectural ensemble and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here, you will find ancient palaces, pagoda temples, stone baths, Hindu and Buddhist statues, engravings, and bronze carvings. One of the main highlights is the Royal Palace, the former residence of the Malla Kings. The Patan Museum, also situated in the square, is another popular attraction.
After exploring, you will be transferred back to your hotel.

Day 3: In Kathmandu.
After breakfast at hotel, we visit Pashupatinath Temple is one of the most sacred Hindu temples dedicated to Lord Shiva. Located on the banks of the Bagmati River in Kathmandu, Nepal, it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a major pilgrimage destination for Hindus around the world. The temple complex is renowned for its stunning architecture, with its main pagoda-style structure adorned with intricate wood carvings and a gilded roof. It serves as an important site for the celebration of Maha Shivaratri, drawing thousands of devotees. Additionally, the temple area is notable for its open-air cremation sites along the river, providing a profound glimpse into Hindu rituals and beliefs surrounding death and the afterlife.
Visit Bhaktapur Durbar Square is a historic place renowned for its rich cultural heritage and stunning Newari architecture. As a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it showcases the grandeur of the Malla dynasty, which ruled from the 12th to the 15th centuries. The square features several key landmarks, including the 55-Window Palace with its intricate woodwork, the Vatsala Temple known for its detailed stone carvings and mysterious bell, and the Nyatapola Temple, the tallest pagoda-style temple in Nepal, celebrated for its impressive height and detailed wooden carvings. Other significant sites include the Lion’s Gate, adorned with stone lions and guardians, Bhairab Nath Temple dedicated to a fearsome form of Lord Shiva, and Taleju Temple, dedicated to the goddess Taleju.
Beyond its architectural splendor, Bhaktapur Durbar Square is a vibrant center of local life and culture. The square is also home to bustling markets, traditional crafts, and local Newari cuisine, providing a glimpse into everyday life in Bhaktapur. The Museum, located within the square, further enriches the experience with its extensive collection of artifacts and religious art.
The afternoon is free for shopping and exploring Bhaktapur. Return to the hotel to rest.
In the evening, visit Boudhanath Stupa, one of the most important pilgrimage sites for Buddhists. Tibetan Buddhists start and end their day with a circumambulation of the stupa, a sort of daily pilgrimage. The stupa comes alive in the evening with butter lamps lit all around.
Enjoy dinner at a rooftop restaurant overlooking Boudhanath Stupa.
